Spring Mood

Spring Mood is the third and most innovative iteration of a collection of seasonal trend pages that are updated each fall, holiday and spring, of which I designed all three. Created to engage and inspire the Ulta Beauty guest, these pages offer relevant and new product as well as curated beauty looks, paired with in-house filmed YouTube influencer tutorials. The Spring page allowed my team to create and build our first attempt at a quiz and displayed multiple instances of nuanced animation, including full-width, responsive video within the hero banner, b-roll video within each mood’s featured image upon scroll and modal windows of each embedded YouTube tutorial.


My Involvement

  • Market research, brainstorm, partner with multiple counterparts to develop marketing/product/design strategy

  • Design desktop/mobile pages

  • Partner with product/development teams to QA test, build & launch experience

  • Present final work to business counterparts & leadership

  • Partner with UX to create & conduct user tests

  • Aggregate user testing feedback and create a deck to share out

  • Partner with Digital Analytics to collect site data

Spring campaigns are key moments to concept test our hopes and plans for the holiday season and Spring Mood was our opportunity to do just that. Partnering with my developer, we created a manually-built quiz experience that would promote more user engagement and achieve some personalization goals on a smaller scale.
